Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

I was dared to drink this beer once but only because of the high alcohol content. Alcohol content doesn’t scare me at all, it was the lack of flavour that saw me not ask for another.

was expecting another good tasting clarsberg with a stronger alcohol content, well i was right about the alcohol content but apart from that this beer leaves little else but a vile aftertaste. Appearance and aroma were fair, the initial flavour not bad but after 3 of these you can do with something else. not the worst ive tried but wont be in a hurry to buy it agen in the forseeable future

Drinkable malt liquor, but not good. Some malt, slight bitterness, metallic, drinkable, but nothing worth seeking out

Aroma doesn’t describe here as well as the word " smell" does. I already have regrets for buying this one. Flavor is not quite as bad as the smell but almost.

Pours with a slight chill haze, then clears- medium to deep gold and a white dissipating head. Aroma is corn, adjunct dms, and stale metallic hops with a hint of throw-up-like acidity. Flavor is prettty sweet and almost cloying- and whatever hops are in there, are just plain skunked out and metallic anyway. TOo thick and the alcohol becomes apparent. There are some people who actually like this stuff, surprisingly.

Pale amber colour with a thin lasting head, aroma is very lager-ish and the flavour is bitter and faintly malty. Tried but wont buy again.

golden/yellow with white head. Aroma of sweet malts/alcohol and hops. Sweetness with warmth from alcohol- very unpleasant!. Medium carbonation. The malt bite makes the texture seem less watery. Slight hoppy finish!

Golden amber with white froathy head. Wheaty beer smell if any at all. Sour and very bitter taste.
