Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Bottle. White head. Golden clear body. Aroma of flowers and barley. Spicy flavor. Aftertaste a bit too alcoholic.

This stuff was horrible... I got it to try an import and didnt see the 7.2% alcohol on the front befor I got it. I would rather have a cheap american malt liquor over this stuff.... I imagine that it tastes similar to the stuff poured down someones butt crack in the movies...

Reminded me of being broke, and buying malt liquor in the aroma, not not nearly as bad. it doesn’t taste great, but it has enough to make it work.

330ml bottle. Golden with a long lasting small white head. Malty grassy aroma, not bad. No skunk at all in this one. Flavor is decent considering it’s a malt liquor with a sizeable abv. Add a point for the high abv. Fruity, malty, and well hopped. Even moderately well balanced. I see a lot of whining in the reviews, and I would be about the last to say this is great, but compared to its peer group, malt liquors, this does ok. The rest of you guys can have the Steel Reserve, I’ll go with this. Haha. Now if I can just lay may hands on a sixer of Country Club, I’ll be set. :)

12 oz bottle. Brought back by my father from his trip to Las Vegas. He really does mean well. Pours a light gold with a 1/2 head that stuck around for a minute or two. Usual Malt Liquor scent, corn and alcohol but with a little fruityness too. Horrible taste, made me cringe. Alcohol is so potent in the finish it’s ridiculous. Watery mouthfeel. Yuck, drain pour after 3 sips. Thanks Dad.

Bottled. For a malt liquor this is okay, but it’s not great by any means. Nothing exciting and pretty bland.

Pours a golde ... you know what? Never mind all that. It was a malt liquor. A macro on steroids ... grainy malt, slightly powdery mouthfeel, vaguely medicinal hint to the unpleasantly sweet malt flavor with a pilsner-esque twang on the back end. It wasn’t horrible, but not a good beer by any stretch.
