Aroma has sweet malts, some bread, some skunk. Taste is disappointing; malty and dry, but not very well put together. No real enjoyment to be had here. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Updated: Jun 28, 2006I had not had this beer for at least a decade until tonight. Sampled from an 11.2 oz green bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a large soapy white head. The aroma is sour tangy macro malts with a hint of pepper. The flavor is again sour tangy macro malts with a hint of pepper. There is a strong alcohol taste to the beer but surprisingly little alcohol burn given that flavor. The alcohol taste lingers and the beer warms the stomach interestingly. Definitely a malt liquor but not bad for one. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 21, 2005 Can. MMMM like an imported Steel Reserve. Golden orange color with a large off-white head. Sweet (not fruity) malt with some notes of dough. Malty flavor with bitter semi-dry finish. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Bottle. Nice honey body with a thin foamy head. Nose is skunky and sweet. Quite nice.Taste-kind of sour, skunk, very thick and sweet, very slightly bitter on the back end with a touch of alcohol. Reminds me of drinking perfume. Very odd. It is an assault of sweet, sticky, sour, and alcohol all at the same time. Doesn’t finish well. harrisoni (6798), Ashford, Kent, England

Some hop some lemon but mostly a syrupy stong alcohol smell. However, for all that I quite liked it in a funny way. Too sweet and lingering in the aftertaste. We used to say that they called it Elephant Beer because after the third one it felt like an elephant stepped on your head.
