Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Bottle. Poured golden amber. Small hoppy aroma. Light body with small finish. A below average malt beer.

Pours a medium golden color. Aroma is malty and somewhat grainy. Flavor is fairly malty with a fairly strong alcohol aftertaste. Best malt liquor I’ve had.

Golden appearance with a fluffy white head that laces a little. Aroma is light malt and corn. Taste is kind of surprisingly sweet malts, some corn, and maybe a little toffee on the back side. A shade heavier on the palate than I expected for the color. Really not that much flavor, but I honestly didn’t expect all that much out of a malt liquor at this price. Covers the alcohol well though so it was o.k to drink.

I let this green bottled skunk air out for a little bit. Bright gold body with a large white head. The aroma is light corn after the skunk. The taste is surprisingly malty with corn and grass. There is also a pronounced sweetness. Definitely a malt liquor, but could be better if they would not put it in a green bottle.

Can: Golden colour, medium fluffy off-white head; mighty fruity (grass, grain, citrus) nose with some hints of alcohol; even thogh it ends with a bitter sweet finish, the main impression is "liquid caramel" or "toffee", quite one-dimensional and nearly bland. But in case of emergency: better than a lousy canned Pils......

Has a decent light amber color, but like most cheap malt liquors has virtually no head. Aroma is of malt and a papermill. Sweet chemical flavor outdoes even the high level of maltiness necessary to produce the 7.2%, but later on in the drink it seems to even out more towards the malt. If an aesthetic improvement is possible for this beer, it might be to used more hops as a counterbalance. Finish is like watered down, cheap blended whiskey. Might be a drainpour but for the high-alcohol. Still, won’t be buying any more of this one!

english pint / eggwhitey, grassy, musty aromay. thickish for a malt liquor, with a cremey chemical/alcohol/perfume twang. what the hell is this? ELLEEEPHAAANNNTTTT!@$ unfortunately, it ended up as a drainpour.

Pours clear golden with meduim white head and good lace. Aroma is malty and chemically. Flavor is mildly malt with some grassiness and alcohol. I was thirsty as hell and I still could barely choke it down.
