Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Sep 13, 2007 Can from Prague airport, at home. Orange hue. Pretty strong nose. Hoppy, strong alcohol content. Watery and strong sharp aftertaste. Not very good.

33cl bottle. It poured a yellow colour with a meidum big foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma is malty, but there is also notes of grains and a touch of grass. The flavour is bitter and tastes of malts, grass, corn og peppery spices. It has a short aftertaste.

Bottle. Very disappointing. Pours a light golden with lots of carbonation and a small white head. Aroma of alcohol and grassy malt. Taste is unbearable- lots of sweet corn, straw, grass, slight spicy hops, and powerful grain alcohol. Very much a malt liquor rather than a strong lager.

Golden lager with a lacing white head. Aroma of mash tun being cleaned, spent grains and light alcohol. Sharp crisp malt with alcohol warmth. Grainy malt finish. Tasted Spring 2006.

Poured an amber color with little lacing. I enjoyed the hearty flavor, but the alcohol was a little overpowering.

330ml bottle. Poured with a huge rocky white head. Sparkling yellow/amber in colour with small medium body. Aroma of fruitiness.

A friend from England loved this stuff until I got him drinking some good beer. I think he liked the alcohol content. Gets you drunk faster than most crap beer.

Bottle. Clear bright golden-amber with no head. Nose is sweet caramel and honey. Flavor is disgusting, caramel mixed with creamed corn? Ouch. Harsh alcohol bite. Instant drainpour for the safety of all involved.
