This beer does not have a good aroma and doesn’t taste much better.
Smells skunky. Palate is watery on the front end and sour/bitter on the back end. shalloWMeans (128), Florence, Kentucky, USA Sep 1, 2008 This pours an amberish honey gold color, bright and shiny, with a big, elephant-sized fluffy head. The aroma is an immediately grassy, skunky, euro-lager hop smell. Very earthy, herbal (asparagus, hay), a bit of honey and a little sugary sweet. This smells like a German lager, but has a slightly distinct aroma that is stronger, maltier, and more earthy. The taste is very dry, yet still highly palatable, with grassy Saaz hops, well-rounded and highly carbonated. There is not much else to say about this. It is not highly complex, although much better than many premium European lagers and a bit more fruity, a bit alcoholic, and with a decent drying herbal finish.
ska (42), Italy Sep 1, 2008 On tap, not bad for a commercial strong lager, golden colour, malt aroma, sweet and alcoholic, tipical bitter finish rkuhnel (1102), Eureka, California, USA Aug 20, 2008 In my recent trek through the beer case at my local Northcoast Coop looking for beers I have somehow neglected this on came up along with regular Carlsberg. Clear gold with white head. Nose of citrus hops. Lively mouthfeel. Flavor of malts with some grassy hops. Alcohol in the finish.
