Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Bottle, Kegs & Barrels, McKinney, TX. Pours more of a hazy gold then the advertised amber and has a white head with ok retention, actually laced the glass....oop’s, now the head is gone...strange....anyway..Aroma is of strong skunk and some malt. Flavor was supprising given the aroma.....is a nice sweet malty beer, but appears to have an old hop taste with slight bitter and leaves a somewhat undesirable after taste, I appreciate a nice bitter in beers, but this bitter taste like skunk. For being a 7%+ beer, it doesn’t seem to have much of an alcohol presence stick out, it seems well balanced on that note. Palate is medium with high carbonation. This isn’t a horrible beer, it’s pretty tasty at first.....why must they put this in green bottles to be distributed??? It just ruins the quality and makes it a cheap beer....just my thoughts.....

11.2oz bottle. Pale filtered golden color, with a fading head. Green aroma of hops and alcohol. Very Saazy Eastern-European flavor going on. The heavy malt body is well complimented by the hops. Not an IBU bomber by any means, but pretty decent for what it is. Worth trying.

Didn’t know what to expect out of this one, didn’t even realize it was a malt liquer until I tasted it. The pour was very golden with a medium white head. Initial taste is sweet, you can taste the malt. After taste is bitter, actually not bad for a malt.

(Can 50cl, Fakta) Clear, golden body with a medium to big, white, mostly diminishing white head. Sweet malty aroma and flavor. Well balanced. The alcohol is easily detected in the finish.
