Sweet fruits and nuts are abound, with xmas pudding spices. Decent depth of flavour, but the sweetness was a bit cloying. This would be good to have at this time of the year, rugged up in a blanket with the rain pouring down outside... thewolf (5831), Kolding, Denmark

It is a bit alcoholic, taste of caramel, burnt malts and some sweet spices. Overall not as sweet as other Christmas Ales but it is more spicyness than bitterness. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2006 Above-average Danish Christmas beer. Nice plummy colour, with a fair head. Sweet and very much to style in the aroma, showing star anise, coriander and Christmas spices. Quite a full mouthfeel initially but it thins in the swallow. Tastes very much like a traditional pud - molasses, dried fruit, cloves, nuts. Quite a spicy finish with a heavy slug of alcohol. Fruit caramel aroma, taste hides the strength well which i sweet viscous smooth chocolate. Has a good lingering aftertaste. I like this beer. As much as I hate Carlsberg I will be buying some more, to see if it improves over time. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

Quite a sweet, nutty, caramely malt character, sticky at times, with some subtle spiceyness. Quite a bit of alcohol showing in the finish, which i guess you’d expect in a beer of this strength, but i thought they could have done a better job of hiding it. This wasn’t bad, but a again with Semper Ardens, it falls slightly short of the mark.
