Pours a deep and clear amber-brown with a huge fizzy off-white head that slowly fades out. First thing that hits the nose is trases off alcohol, thereafter vanilla caramel, dry berries, yeast, cinnamon and other species. The taste is sweet with clearly notes of alcohol and chocolate - I also taste burned malts, vanilla and something that tastes like metal. The finish is round and sweet with a picky or fizzy palate on the tounge. The Semper Ardens series from Carlsberg is the best comercial stuff coming from that brewery - but this one is not the best
