Being not that fond of sempder ardens, i was surprised by this christmas ale. It is definetly in the top 25% of christmas ales i have tasted this year. It is uncomplicated and extremely well balanced. If You like an uncomplicated, but very good christmas brew, this is a good choice. Alc.% is quite high, but you won’t notice until you try to walk around. The brew is good enough to be able to handle 8.3%.

(Bottle thanks larsniclas and rlgk) Pours dark reddish brown. The aroma is sugary and fruity with some subtle spice hints of mostly anise. The flavour is very sweet and fruity with some subtle spiciness. Hint of almond paste, earth and pears. Ok mouthfeel. Medium bodied.

Tasted 2007-11-26. 2006 version. Pours dark red/brown. Powerfull, sweet and spicy aroma. Flavours of cinnamon, fruits and malt sweetness. Very christmassy. Has mellowed out a bit in the cellar - in a good way; was a bit too much fresh.

Bottle (thanks rlgk & larsniclas) shared with a bunch of RB:s. Deep mahogny with a creamy beige head. Fruity and toffeish dopplebock-like malt aroma, with some spicy notes. Medium bodied and smooth, a bit to far on the sweet side.

(Bottle, thanks to larsniclas and rlgk!) Clear dark copper to brown color, tan head. Subtle malty sweet scent. Sweet and smoke taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
