The aroma is full of the dark fruit like figs, prunes and raisens - mostly figs. There is also some cinamon in it, and perhaps some nuts also some spicies I could not define. It’s beautiful red, just like a christmas ale should be. The flavor is full of prunes, caramel, and nuts. Of course it has a lot of figs too.

66 cL bottle (sampled each year since the first release in 75 cL bottles). Pours redish brown, clear, with a little creamy and slight orange head. Aroma is mildly spiced and holds a promise of sweet caramel malt. Flavour is caramel malt, only mildly sweet, a bit of spices - I cannot make out which exact ones it holds. Has a sharp note just before the finish which holds a decent bitterness.

Bottle vintage 2005 from cellar in Carlsberg. Small fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Cloudy brown looking color. Fair display of lacework. Aroma of Christmas spice, caramel, dried fruit, hint of grain. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light to moderated sweet flavor with a hint of bitter notes. Sweet dried fruity finish.

Flaske. Rigtig lækker juleøl, selv om sommeren. God uigennemsigtig rødlig farve, men smagen er helt i top. Sødlig med masser af krydder i smagen. Rigtig flot øl.

Pours murky brown with no head. Spicy and warming, but with quite uncontrolled alcohol.

Bottle. Reddish with beige head. Spices and caramel in aroma along with malt and dark fruit. Flavour is sweet malt with caramel and brown sugar notes and a light spicyness with some dark fruits added.

Bottle: Hazy and amber coloured, stable yellowish foamy layer; sweet, fruity and alcoholoic nose with a tinge of cinnamon; soloid sweet flavour, full bodied, a bit sticky, smooth MF; a bit brandy-like, a bit vinous, but mainly sweet and fruity finish. O.K., but a bit too much on the sweet side......
