A bit thin but some genuine coally bitter flavours involved. easy to drink and is more pleasant than tooheys old. This is a masterpiece by carltons standards. Grab a coopers dark stubby instead however.

After having several Tooheys Old's at the pub I switched to this. I was suprised to say the least. Tends to have a better flavour than Old, although took some getting use to. Much more prominant coffee flavour, and almost a fruitness to it. Not to bad, especially for a Carlton beer.

A not too bad darker beer. MOre flavour than tooheys old but still not really a stout. Its not very malty and overall a little bland.

This is not a porter. It’s more of a dark ale similar to tooheys Old. I think this stuff is far better than Tooheys Old. It’s not bad, just don’t expect anything great and you may be surprised. RE-RATE: Now offered in 375ml bottles. Still not great, but I will maintain that it is better than Tooheys Old, which I think is the most overrated beer in the country

Simply this is a disappoinment. After all the hype with advertising, beer coasters etc you think the brewers would have done something special. Nup. Remember CUB stands for Crappy Useless Beer. How dare they call this a porter. Read the description guys- "porters are well hopped and heavily malted". Repeat after me......

Most tasteless black beer I've ever had. Simon and Nudge quite commonly come in tanked on this though: it's popping in pubs all over...

1/4: Porter? Its an aussie dark ale. Pours black/dark brown with a small brown head. Little burnt aroma, with a hint of POR hop smell. Tastes of coffee, balanced bitterness. Bit too thin though. Very "tooheys old" in style, with a bit more coffee taste.

Rich Dark color with no head. Very watery body, with a taste of roasted malt. As with all CUB beers drink fast before it warms a little, if you dont its going to taste like crap!
