Malty, and somewhat of a fruity aroma. A hint of malty, fruitnessy at the start. This beer must be drunk cold and quickly. I find that it flattens out and becomes very bland if you don’t swill it.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. Medium high lasting fluffy white head leaving nice long lacings. Beautiful clear golden amber body. Mild sweet weak barley malt aroma. Flavor like indicated by the aroma but has a dry somewhat sharp hops bitterness. Low carbonation, short aftertaste. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 8, 2009 There’s nothing special at all about Australia’s self-described "finest beer". Mild bitterness, but otherwise so unconfrontational it’s almost offensive, and what flavour does survive the chemical engineering is nothing to write home about.
The only redeeming feature was that the original straight sided conical crown seal bottles (as pictured) are great for home brew, but that’s a distant memory now too. jonno (608), Brisbane, Australia
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Apparently this stays a day longer in the fermetation tanks than foster’s lager. And that’s it! I could drink it if it’s free but otherwise a bland pale lager with fancy euro style pacjaging. davidm (204), Melbourne, Australia
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Bottle. Boring. Aroma is lightly floral, and taste is sweet, with some bitterness at the end. Thin and watery in the palate. Yellow colour, head is fizzy and disappears. FatPhil (3507), Espoo, Finland

Pale, shaving foam head. Utterly bizarre taste - almost buttery in some ways. Some simple malts and drying chemical bitterness. Tongue-scrapingly so. mkel07 (562), Brisbane, Australia
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Aug 11, 2009 375ml bottle. For so long this has been seen as the flagship of premium Australian beer - what a joke. Nothing enjoyable about this at all. Poured a clear gold colour with a thin veil of foam across the top and a bland aroma. alagnak (381), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Bottle from minibar. Nose is actually offensive, very vomit-esque. Corn malty flavor, only redeeming quality is the relatively clean, bitter finish. I’m amazed that a beer can be horrid through all phases save the finish. alepig666 (78), Adelaide, Australia
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Mutton dressed as lamb, marketed as a premium beer but is just another Aussie macro pale lager. Aroma is weak and quite chemical. Taste is like Becks mixed with Melbourne Bitter, crappy hops taste with slight bitterness. Aftertaste is the same. Drinkable but nothing remotely special. Would likely rate higher if they dropped the premium beer bullshit.
