Commercial Description:
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

Not that bad for an average beer. Its very watery however compared to some of the beers I am now drinking..thanks to you RateBeer! (Not to the freak from Canberra though) he's just trying to keep up with the ratings! I find this far better than many of the other CUB beers they rave on about, and yet its their basic brand now. Good reliable fresh beer.

This beer brings back memories of my college days when it was an ideal beer to order by the jug. Or if ordering the one you would develop the tongue roll that is 'a pot of Carlton, thanks mate'. Although it's not a 'world class' beer it was never meant to be. I disagree with any comparisons to CUB's Aussie flagship, Victoria Bitter. Unlike VB, Carlton Draught drops down easily enough and doesn't have a yucky aftertaste. A fairly inoffensive working class lager.

basicly filtered and re-labeled vb from what i can gather, not much to differentiate it from vb really, cheap and nasty, drink as cold as possible if at all

Used to drink this on tap and from bottles to get drunk with mates but always hated it. Smells slightly metallic and cidery tastes like soda water with hints of beer in it and leaves a strange hop taste that sticks to your tongue but not as badly as VB or Melbourne Bitter.

Like VB and any other Carlton beer. Looks like the real thing, but when you get down to it, tastes like a sugary, watery imitation. This is a poor excuse for beer, and gives Australia a bad name in the beer stakes. Avoid at all costs when at the pub.

A bit sweet and sugary for my taste. Its about the same as any Aussie macro, but I would reccomend it over VB on anything but a really hot day.

Quite a refreshing tap beer. Not too harsh. Recommend it over VB and New, quite similar, just a little sweeter and easy. Nothing special though, don't expect miracles.

Well when I first tasted this it didnt seem that bad. But a couple of sessions later and I couldnt stand the stuff. Its aroma puts you off to start with, it has no body (which isnt always bad), then comes the big hit of syrupy -sickness - try drinking a real beer then drinking this - its just not kool. cheers
