Commercial Description:
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

Bottle. Didn’t quite make it to the stage you can sometimes reach with a really bland crappy beer where you can at least drink it without really thinking about it too much... every gulp was somewhat of an effort. Perhaps due to the fact that I was in a 2 hour focus group talking about beer labelling, and so didn’t have quite enough to distract me.

On tap at the Fortune of War Bar in Sydney. Pale yellow in color with a bright white head. Smooth and cold when consumed in Sydney’s oldest bar. Average low-flavor Oz lager. However, I think it has a smoother palate than the others. This beer makes me very burpy, though.

Better than VB, not as good as Melbourne, after the first 5 can’t taste it anyway, at a pub near you.

Very standard Australian tap lager, at least it doesn’t claim to be a bitter like it’s cousin.

Very bland mainstream beer - appeals to the lowest common denominator. Can’t see why it’s so popular. VB is better in my view.

Yellow body. Appley flavor, but really just your everyday light beer. At least it didn’t have a bad aftertaste. Melbourne.
