Commercial Description:
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

The old standby for me. If there is nothing else to drink, I’ll have one of these please. Due to it’s cheapness, it is my beer of choice when out on the town. It’s like VB but less... crap. It can be actually very nice and refreshing if you are feeling a bit arid. At home I try to do better than this if I have more than $5 to my name

Clear golden color, short head. Not much aroma, because it is served very cold. Bitter and dry taste. Bit crisp and dry palate.

Pale golden, clear, medium head. I wouldn’t go so far as calling this "foul", but it is pretty boring. Sweet malt is really all you get for flavour (the same as all corn-adjunct, over-processed pale lagers on the market). I wouldn’t choose to drink it again if an alternative were available, but I wouldn’t turn it down if the beerfridge was empty on a Friday night. This is my standard review for all "two-star-or-less" piss.

Honestly quite tasty when straight from the brewery, tap, my mouth. Although it is very mono flavoured. It doesnt require a good togue to taste it. Its got the typical ringwood taste too common in CUB however from the tap and its price... its well worth it compared to the others around.... Birrabella lygon $4 a pint!

Canned. Fizzy deep golden, no head. A light orangey hop aroma over an industrial, fizzy, medim sweet body. Very low bitterness.

Is ok for the mass produced and when you have run out of beers. Best drunk very cold.

Yep - CUB pale larger to a tee. Pours a decent head but disappears quickly. Some unappealing, dry lacing remains. Copper in colour, very clear and darker than I would typically associate with the style. Nose has some industrial malt sweetness and ’house’ style notes. More off putting stale note (malts?...I’d love to know how CUB does it). The standard of crap this company puts out never ceases to amaze.

Tasted on Draught and virtually thrown into your face at nearly every pub in Australia. Typical translucent lemon-gold body, with a green tinge. No head passed the soapy kegged gas charge, and little lace. Aroma of a car wreckers lot, oxidised metal, and dank liquor freshly pumped from the Yarra. In the mouth, it had that cheap home brew kit lager flavour, that thin watery unbalanced concoction brewed in a mates back shed. Typical ’Aussie lager’ metallic hop feel across the tongue, unconverted malt starch and a sharp carbonic bite in front. Sadly, it’s not the worst of the Aussie macro’s!!!
