Commercial Description:
Carlton Draught is one of Australia's biggest selling tap beers. This traditional full strength lager, available nationally, is renowned for delivering "brewery fresh" taste. Carlton Draught provides a crisp mid-palate flavour which is balanced with a clean hop bitterness and a slightly dry finish.

sampled under the name N.T. Draught - I had this beer many years ago at one time when I was only giving ratings to the beers but was too lazy and stupid to write down my thoughts. I will update this as soon as I get my hands on this beer again.

Ok, given i’m in Melbourne (Australia), it may just be it’s omnipresence that makes "pot of Carlton thanks" my beer of choice at many a pub. It’s easy to drink, and is completely inoffensive, which means before you know it you’ve had 8 pots and things are getting a little blurry...good basic tap beer.

Nice clear beer, pale gold in colour. Small white, tight head which dissappears quickly, light, coarse carbonation. Aroma of dried apples and and sweet malt. Apple-like flavour masking anything else from my tastebuds. Thin and watery. Remarkably similar to VB which is also crap.

Very active lager with a light hopped aroma and a fairly weak and generally sweet flavour. Overall a weak rating lager.

Not bad actually, I was quite impressed with it. I wasn’t too keen on CUB beers especially after I had the putrid VB...Very drinkable.

Tap: Run of the mill mass produced alcohol that happens to be beer. Not much aroma, not really any flavour. Poor.

Pale Yellow Amber in colouring with a small white long lasting head. Bitter sweet, metallic, chemical aroma. Clean, crisp and bitter in taste. Reliable, unoffensive, cheap beer that does the job well when you after a heavy night on the grog. Good for a standard beer.

Standard pub lager. Sampled on draught at Di Biers in Melbourne, Australia. Very low key beer. Gold body with white head. Smells or rice, skunky malts and hops. Taste is carbonated water and malt. Aftertaste is more pleasant than most cheap beer.
