Pale golden beer, aroma is slightly malty, a touch of sweetness and toffee. No hop flavour and low bitterness. Light sweet finish. DuffMan (2769), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada

There’s some grass and vegetables. The body is dryish and fairly soft, yet thin. Low bitterness. A decent industrial low abv thirst quencher. Stew41 (1054), Caulfield, Australia
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 15, 2005 Hey, this isn’t too bad...in the CUB context of course. Standard crappy house larger feel (they can never quite get rid of the stale note) but it does serve as a reasonable mid strength style, compared to Aussie beers of course. Even has a reasonable hop flavour and finish. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 26, 2005 Tasted it on draught, and then slowly convinced myself to try it from the bottle. That this was up there in the ranking of big brother Foster’s stirred a shiver. CUB must think Australian’s are idiots, or else we seem to buy like one!!! This one poured a transparent gold, with a decent artificial white fluff. Aroma of dank liquor stumbled amid an unexpected toasted malt body. Carbonic acid plagued the front of the palate, and blended with the metallic mouth feel, ending in nothing more than another Aussie Macro swill. Double hopped...leaves it open to interpretation (in my opinion all beer should be ’double hopped’)...with what I don’t know!?!. Awful! mullet (801), Melbourne, Australia
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Dec 9, 2004 On tap at the CUB Brewery tour in Melbourne. Not too bad. Lightly sweet then a tiny bit sour with reasonable bitterness (because of the "double hopping" LOL). Wasn’t as good as the Sterling, which probably isn’t a ringing endorsement, but the Sterling was actually pretty good. Nemo (100), Fremantle, Australia
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 29, 2004 Light Amber in colouring with a decent small frothy head which lasts awhile. A hint of sweetness and malty hoppy aroma. Hints of tinny, metallic, chemical, watery, bland taste. Lacking any true character or flavour. AlphaOne (142), Australia

Cane sugar is noticable in the aroma, along with some unpleasant hoppiness. Some residual sugar is present with a sugar cane sweetness. slight grassy hop bitterness along with a nasty chemical taste are in the finish.
"not a bad bitter"
a bitter is an ale mate, it also should have a thing called FLAVOUR.
VB + water = this
