Medium body with a pleasant coffee aftertaste. Could cut back on the carbonation-- seems like it could be hiding some of the flavor. Overall it was a nice surprise for being overlooked on my first tour. demitriustown (697), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 3, 2005 345 ml bottle. Pitch black. Sweet malty aroma, coffee/chicory, some coffee and heavy roast. A bit fruity and toasty. Flavour is quite sweet, chewy malts. A bit oily but there are some adjuncty notes underneath the heavier malts. Not that good. Silphium (2137), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Deep brown body, thin tan head. Strong chocolatey, roasty aroma with hints of coffee, soy, and light metallic notes. The flavor hits with bitter roasted malts, licorice, and baker’s chocolate. Definitely on the dry side, but rich nonetheless. The soy component works well with the other flavors, thankfully. Medium-bodied, full-flavored, with a nice, oily finish. Not the greatest of stouts, but I recommend it. kbjames (242), Utah, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 6, 2005 This is an intersting Stout that was very dark and almost liquorce in taste. Wasn’t exactly to my liking as the darknedd kinds of overwhelmed it. Overal decent though, can do a lot worse than this. IndianaRed (1555), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2005 Bottle pours a pitch black with a thick mocha colored head. Spotty coarse lacing. Aroma was coffee, molassas and quite sweet. Tastes mostly of dark roast and coffee. Feel was nice abd smooth especially as it warms up a bit. A slightly burnt bitter aftertaste. Simple and starightforward. Not particularly special, but tasty. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Bottle. Fil bought me this at a bottle shop right beside the Australian in the Rocks. Pours with a small brown head and the color is dark, dark, ruby. This shows good lace and the nose is of coffee and alcohol overtones. Let’s begin... Almost a dry stout taste with medium body and a strong espresso flavor. This finishes bitter on the back of the tongue with an alcohol burn. Not a full flavored beer that really impresses, but rather dry and bitter, which is interesting. A little incomplete, but still a decent beer. Thanks Fil!
