| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 5, 2002 Roastiness, sort of, but thin and super high alcohol content in nose and flavor (or so it seemed -- someone else said licorice and I can sense that). Dry, woody. Nice presentation, head staying power. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2002 This one divides my friends, but I land on the side that doesn’t favor it. Too much licorice in the flavor (funny that I loved that flavor as a kid). Many other fine qualities of roasted, thick, molasses like taste and decent mouth feel. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 22, 2002 A quality stout for the price. Nice and smooth with nice subtle roasted coffee flavor. Aesir (127), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2002 Pour yourself a glass of molasses and toast the Aussies. I think this beer isn’t bad at all. Granted...the sweetness is a little much after 1 pt. 9.6 oz of this stuff, but the flavor is pretty straight forward and unique in a way. Extra points for the bigger bottle. Sheaf won’t shaft you on quantity. AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2002 Surprisingly nice aroma, dark body, with a light tan head. From there things went downhill for me, with too watery a palate, and fairly weak flavors of malt and hops, and a coffee-ish tone. Not a bad stout, but with so many to choose from, can’t say this would be the one I’d buy.
