Nice dark color with good head. Aroma is of roasted malt. Something was a bit off in the flavor though. Something harsh and astringent about it. Not very smooth. Disappointing. strings (361), Sydney, Australia
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 12, 2007 Remember liking it more when it was one of the first heavy beers I’d tried, but after tasting a bucketload of other great stouts and porters which have gone to the effort of providing some pleasant flavours on their way to making me wince, the sheaf has lost most of its attraction.
