gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Nov 21, 2008 Had this one on draught at the brewpub in Rockford, Illinois. A very nice, deep amber color, hazy, with a fluffy white head. Typical alt nose, a bit fruity, a bit malty with a touch of dry hoppiness. Very clean and drinkable flavor, typical of the style. I would say this is a nice altbier and a very good beer from an excellent brewer in an unlikely location. Narnad (681), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2008 Served on tap at Carlyle. The beer came to the table a nice copper color, smooth white head and a medium amount of carbonation. The aroma of this beer is very light but had a low caramel malt aroma with a slight Spalter/Saaz hop aroma. This beers flavor was very crisp and clean with a some Munich malt character, slightly sour, a bit of the Saaz/Spalter hops flavor and a light toffee ending. Overall a good beer but wished there was a bit more of a malty nose to it
