Aroma has a lot of grapefruity hops and sweet dark caramel malt. Body starts with a decent amount of sweet malt and lots of fresh citrusy hops before a toasty, bittersweet finish that hides the abv well. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 06/20/2007

Drnk_McDermott (1545), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA May 10, 2007 Sampler. Finally, we wrap the evening with the former Poor Richard’s. Solid brown body packed with malts instead of sugar (blame that previous quad for this observation). With a little more alcohol, it could be a "young Bigfoot." Strong malt and alcohol. The hops manage some bacup, but give up after a while, leaving just a little lingering bitter aftertaste. Brewosk (137), Illinois, USA Mar 18, 2007 Good caramel malt. One of the better beers that Carlyle serves. Sweet aroma infused with some alcohol. Very noteworthy flavor. One of eleven on tap. Nice in a goblet.
