boto (1224), Granby, Connecticut, USA Sep 28, 2005 Draught @ brewpub: This one poured a somewhat orangish-amber color with a bit of a head. There was also a decent bit of lacing. The aroma is fairly decent, with a good bit of grapefruit and pine hops. Decent malt body with a bit of a malt kick. This almost treads into the IPA range. TheDean (784), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 11, 2004 Sampled at Great Taste of the Midwest. Usually not a fan or APA?s, but this one was quite good, according to my, by this time, hard-to-read notes. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 2, 2004 Dark, hazy copper-amber; bright, leafy, pungent aroma. Fairly bitter throughout, a bit bland overall...fairly rough and unstructured, but still somewhat likable. The quality is there, it’s just not well put together. Some grapefruit wafts late. ElGaucho (1721), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jun 23, 2004 Hoppy aroma with a slightly sour aftertaste. Reddish amber color with an off-white head. Excellent lace. Hoppy, but slightly thin. Somewhat like a cask. Sampled on draught at the 9th annual Prairie Rock Brewfest in Elgin, IL. Rupp (13), Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2004 Amber colored, good hop nose, very low malt aroma, some caramel. Body is a little thin for my preference to balance hops, but still within style, has a good mix of malt and hops in taste, and finishes on the bitter side, but can be a little too carbonated at times, which makes for a thinner mouthfeel. Still a very good APA.
