Carlyle Hefeweizen

On tap 10/11/08. Pours a clear yellow with a solid white head. Aroma is a very nice banana and clove flavor with a bit of wheat pulling up the rear. Flavor has a heavier clover flavor with a banana undertone, great med-high carbonation which leaves great lacing on the glass. Very easy to drink.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/20/07: Pours a hazy light bronze with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma boasts sweet bready German wheat and yeast along with mild earthy clove and citrus. Body starts with a touch of lightly sweet wheat, good fullness and a bready yeasty finish, but not as crisp and flavorful as others.

hazy orange, fine white head, streaks of lace, sweet clove and banana aroma, lots of sweet banana flavor balanced by the clove character, one of the best balances I come across,

In a pint at Carlyle. Good body with scents of clove and banana. Pleasant grainy flavor.

Pint at the brewery. Aroma of banana and clove with a nice twang to it. Very cloudy yellow with a white head. Flavors of bubblegum, banana, malt, spice etc... A decent hefe that doesn’t taste too much like fake banana candy. Medium body with a creamy texture.

Cloudy kinda yellow in color with a slight head that left fairly good lacing on side of glass. Nose is mostly bannana with some fruit and grains. The taste at first was some wheat then to bannana then more to some barley. As the glass warmed the bannana became very present and almost too dominant. Very drinkable and pleasant.

Mostly translucent pale yellow in color with a fizzy body and thin white head. Aroma is bananas, pepper and cloves. Some lemon accents, but a fairly sweet, subdued and enjoyable whiff. Some harsh lemon acidity leads the flavoring, luckily transitioning to crisp lemons, bananas and cloves. Acidity and pepper manifest in the finish. Fair, but could be better.

Hazy pale yellow with a frothy white head. Strong banana aroma, slightly caramelly (like over-ripe bananas) - not much in the way of cloves. Light-bodied with a rather light flavor, mild banana-ness and moderate cloves and wet grains.
