Bottle. A fairly traditional Scandinavian Christmas beer. Lots of sweet malt, caramel malt to give color. Some spicy hops, sweet finish. If you want to boast of brewing craft beer, you should be a bit more inventive than this.

0.5 L bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. Firm, dense beige head. Crystal clear, reddish amber colored body. Moderate, but inviting aroma of cream-caramel and roasted nuts. Some dusty hops, too. Taste is medium malty, bitter-sweet, with some light sourish and peppery undertones. A certain earthy hopbitterness is noticeable. Medium to light body. Short, slightly spiced, dry malty finish.

500 ml bottle. Mahogany with a ruby red hue. Medium-sized light beige fine-laced head that clings to the glass. Nutty aroma with a lot of chocolate. Very mellow aroma. Licorice flavours. Bready ye flavours, much reminiscent of kvass. Distinct hop bitterness that feels sharp and metallic initially, but blends into the soft flavours. A little watery in the finish. Interesting Christmas beer, and quite unlike any other I’ve had. In all it reminds of a kvass.
