Libeerian (209), Garner, North Carolina, USA Sep 19, 2004 I don’t think this was a very good style in a state that’s still restricted to 6% or less. That said, I have 2 reviews. My first taste was of a clear, copper/gold beer that wasn’t sweet enough and had very little Belgian spiciness. The hops were tasty but too pronounced for the style. Then someone shook the keg to see how much was left and roused the yeast which had settled to the bottom. What a difference! Sure it was cloudy but now it was spicy and much closer to style. I wish I’d tasted THIS beer first. hurleymanvw (101), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Sep 14, 2004 Very good beer for an aniversary. Got a six pack at a brewery tour. Golden and hazy in apperacne with a slight bitter aftertaste with a fruity aroma. Good beer i enjoyed wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 3, 2004 Draught. Small thin head--better head later when
not served in a frosted mug! Maltynose, spice and
yeast noted. Copper colored, very slight haze. Flavor
is malty, but not all that well mixed. Spice is prevalent in
flavor. Finish is slightly astringent and there is bitterness
in the middle. A strange one to pick considering the 6%
NC abv law.
