Bad aroma, shady murky brown apperance, and sour malt taste.... not that good. Maybe this was a bad bottle, or maybe just a failure on the part of Carolina Beer’s marketing strategy. Before this, I couldn’t say I had ever had a "bad" Cottonwood, oh well.... GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 31, 2005 Picked up a six of this stuff on sale after St. Patty’s day. It poured a nice medium, reddish-brown with a medium head. Very earthy aroma, mild hops, with an overall sweet-ish, malty flavor though. Kind of strange for an ale. Also, not particularly lively on the palate. In fact it finished a little watery. I’d say it was worth the sale price for the six. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

of the beer.
