Commercial Description: In the gold rush days of the 1800's, this original American beer style was created by brewing a lager beer without the benefit of refrigeration. Though the origin of the term "steam" is unknown, it may have been used to describe the sound made when tapping a keg of this well carbonated brew. This method of fermentation creates a hybrid beer with the depth and character of an ale and the crispness of a lager. In keeping with tradition, our beer has a malty palate, amber color, and contains the finest ale hops.
