Feb 3, 2009 on tap-pours a tan head and amber color. Aroma is herbal/copper, light/medium malt. Taste is herbal/copper/lemon hops, light/medium malt-nutty. Light side of medium body.

Nov 16, 2008 Bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours a dark clear brown with a white head. Smells vegetal and earthy. Tastes of caramel and some sweet malt. Average.

Oct 1, 2006 For a "brown," it sure is amber. Nice off-white head that weaves a spidery web of lacing. The aroma is a sweet, lightly roasted malt with a dollop of milk chocolate. A bit thin, it nonetheless delivers a pleasing flavor of fruity sweet malts with a surge of choclate that appears in the middle. Oct 23, 2007 Draft at the Q shack in Durham, NC. Poured a slightly hazy brown color with orange highlights. Head was two fingers high and light tan. There was decent lace at the end. Aroma was of grassy hops with whiffs of molasses and chocolate. Slightly sweet on the tongue with mild hop bitterness. Tasted of subdued malty molasses and grassy/flowery hops. Not a bad brown. Went well with my plate of brisket and pulled pork.

Sep 14, 2009 Draft sample at the brewpub. Pours a brown color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel and nuts. The taste is dominated by green apple with some faint nutty malt notes. Medium bodied. Seems off.

Feb 25, 2009 Copper/brown with a light white head and lace. Nothing on the nose detracted from this beer nor stood out. Toasted malt with a sour finish. Over carbonated. Not my favorite beer from them but a drinkable beer none the less.

Oct 30, 2007 On tap at the Durham WBF. Clear brown with a small tan head. Mildly nutty, a bit of cocoa. Nice, but kinda ho-hum.
