Commercial Description:
Originally, this intensely hopped ale was brewed in the 18th century to survive the long sea journey from the cooler breweries in England, around the Cape of Africa to India where the temperatures were too warm to brew. This beer has a unique floral aroma from the generous addition of Cascade hops to the fermenter in a procedure known as dry hopping.

On tap at the Cats Cradle, Carrboro. A blessed relief after the mess that is the golden ale. This one has a nice floral hop aroma, a full pleasant mouthfeel, and a dry bitter finish to balance things out. Very refreshing and solid IPA.

Draught. Copper color, with a medium white head. Aroma is hoppy--citrus, and malty--caramel. Flavor is the same, with floral hops, and a grapefruit, pine flavor. Mouthfeel is sticky, but with a bitter hop finish.

Very tasterful IPA with a beautiful taste and texture. Surely a must try. Nice white head that lasts the entire beer. Give it a shot when in Chapel hill.

Appearance: Clear golden body with a large, fizzy, ivory-colored head. Smell: A whiff of light caramel, a whiff of light citrus. Taste: Pale malts with some sweet caramel mixed in. Citrusy hop flavor. Medium bitterness. Dry, citric finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Lively carbonation. Drinkability: A beer that decided to err on the side of light, easy drinkability, but, as it offers almost no flavor or depth of character, I dare wonder what’s the point.

Draft from the brewery. Mildly cloudy copper/brown color. Mild hoppy grapefruit nose. The flavor’s easy to define: IPA, water, cascade hops, water, and a touch of water. Mmmm, waterdown IPA. Finishes clean, super drinkable, doesn’t offer a Godamn thing.

WBF. Nice IPA. Not too outstanding but a good example of the style. Moderate hop profile, not super distinguishable hop varieties. More of a broad hoppy bitter flavor.
