| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Draught during my NC brew tour. The photo here shows the IPA from Carolina Brewing Company. Are they one and the same? The Flagship IPA pours a light copper with a small white head. The aroma is spicy with grapefruit and caramel notes. A more English side comes out with suggestions of wood and paper. The hop strength and zest in the flavor is almost American, but leans more towards an English boundary of tastefulness. Some slightly leathery notes and a general taste of the outdoors are in the flavor. Very well balanced, good drink for any time. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2007 A very creamy head formed and held above a bronzed copper body which itself held a light haze. Citrusy hopping suggests bitterness but a light floral quality and some caramel sweetness add a friendly twist to the aroma. Balanced flavor with an English feel. Lemon tea, not overly bitter... yes, this is a nice English-style IPA.
