Commercial Description:
A medium bodied, dark brown ale with a complex chocolatey, toasted malt taste. The word "nut" in the name implies a dry nut-like taste that makes it distinct from some of the sweeter brwon ales.

Deep hazy rich brown coloured body with a darker tint and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of fresh malt - good nuts, alcohol and even a decent dose of hops. Medium-bodied; Sharp malty flavour with some pit fruit tastes in the forefront that taste well and show sweetness. Aftertaste fades to nuttiness, malt and a light caramel flavour. Almost no hops at all to speak of. Overall, a decent brown, but since this isn’t my style, I can’t say it’s amazing. Worth trying if you like the style since it wasn’t bad in any respect - tough to say for a lot of the beers in this style! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Durham, North Carolina on 31-August-2008.

On tap at Schroder’s New Deli in Rome, GA.  Not often do I get to have a beer at lunch on Monday, but since I was on jury duty rather than teaching kiddies I splurged.  This brew looks brown and mostly opaque in my glass with a short, white head.  Lots of nuts and oats and cookies in the nose.  The flavor is roasted malts, some oak, chocolate and a hint of soy at the finish.  Very light bodied.

12 oz, bottled on 06-18-08. Clear chestnut colored body with a miniscule crown that tries to last. Aroma is coffee with toasted nut, light cocoa and oats. Flavor is a nice earthy blend of the same elements. Light-medium body is watery and too fizzy, but finishes nicely dry.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of oldstylecubsfa n. Thanks Todd. Pours a clear brown color with a small whitish head. The aroma is moderately sweet, nutty, with some caramel malt. The flavor is a nice mix of moderately sweet malt, chocolate, light nuts, and a small amount of bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Very drinkable for a style I usually don’t enjoy too much.

12oz bottle. clear, medium brown color. Aroma of toasted hazelnuts. Nice toasted barley notes. Flavors of caramel, toasted barley, and unsalted greens. Very balanced. A very good brown ale. (bottled on 05.23.07)
