Commercial Description:
A medium bodied, dark brown ale with a complex chocolatey, toasted malt taste. The word "nut" in the name implies a dry nut-like taste that makes it distinct from some of the sweeter brwon ales.

Courtesy of Jonathan3584. <P> Sweet almost soda smelling aroma to match its cola color and a fluffed up mocha head. Very mild chocolate notes in the mid fore taste. It is indeed nutty. Light bodied and other than the malt sweetness and that nuttiness not overly flavorful, but it has a very sippable quality and a hazlenut aftertaste.

Tap. Dark cola brown with virtually no head. Sweet, non distinct aroma, may have been due to the fact that I’m tired. Flavors don’t jump out at you (as I’m finding with many brown ales), but the hazelnut, caramel, and malt that was there was pretty tasty. Smooth, if slightly thin mouth feel, like skim milk. Finished clean with a little bit of that nut flavor. Overall pretty good.

(12oz bottle, bottled 8/17/05, best by 11/17/05) Clear, dark brown-red body with small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, caramel, some nutty. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, caramel, nutty, some salty. Light-medium body, with light stickiness. Gets worse as it warms.

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut red with off-white head. Moderate malty nose with some sweet and salty peanuts. Flavors of malt, toffee, rye, and bright nuts - again, mostly peanuts. Some dryness in the end, from both hops and carbonation. This one definitely benefits from warming up in the glass a bit.

Reddish brown with a sweet, nutty aroma. Warm flavors of roasted malts with a medium body and a slight balancing acidity in the end. Suprisingly good, one of their better offerings.

Bottled on 07/28/04 best before 10/28/04 drank on 3/5/05: Clear chestnut with a thin white head, rich toffee aroma with a touch of roasted malts, medium bodied with lightish carbonation, ends very clean.
