with hint of caramel. The brewers say that they use three different hops in this beer, and I
personally feel that the hop blend alone makes this beer worthy of drinking. Cybercat (797), Georgia, USA

Not spectacular, but a good companion to a meal - or a good game on TV. If you prefer American macrobrews, this ale will help wean you off them. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2007 This rating from the bottle, although I had several pints of this on tap while in Raleigh, definitely the best available in the hotel bar! Right down the pipe for a pale ale, I’d put this more in the American vein than English ... light in its amber hue, limited in it’s carbonation, and little head. But it’s got a decent hoppy citursy character, definitely quaffable, and a quality session brew. Pours golden with little head. Good pale taste. Good crisp finish. TURDFERGUSON (1603), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2006 Ice cold bottle served at a preseason UNC Basketball banquet. I looked in the cooler- Miller Lite, Red Stripe, Pilsner Urquell, and this. The good ole local pale ale. I’m sure I have tried this before, but had never rated. My first bottle was ice-cold, needed a napkin to cover it just to be able to stand the coldness on my hand (im a wimp.). Did not pour out of bottle so my appearence rating will be neutral. Aroma not particularly exciting, but also not offensive- a quality I like to look for in beers I dont think will be too spectacular. At the end of a 11 hour workday, this shit really hit the spot. Albeit it was served ice-cold, but this beer had nice fruity flavors, crisp clean hops, with some creamy malts to balance it out. I enjoyed it and would happily drink again. A great session beer. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2003 Crystal-clear golden with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malty, earthy, and light floral. Taste is delightfully earthy, light sweet. Light floral sneaks in there as well. Light-medium body. Overall a very good beer. Could use some more hops for my taste. A little less flavorful than some of the classics (Sierra Nevada/Troegs Pale Ale). A good beer nonetheless. jasonp (1510), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Has more hops and bitterness than the Brit style. Clear golden with a medium white head. Taste is of hops, grapefruit, citrus and some pine. Decent malty sweetness. Clean finish. Medium body. Good lacing, decent head retention. Underrated IMO.
