GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Sep 5, 2009 Bottle obtained in a trade with OldGrowth. Thanks! Bottled 11/25/08. Poured a clear copper color. The head was thick and off white with good retention and lacing. I smelled caramel, orange, toffee, mango, and a bit of pine. Medium bodied and sweet. Mild to moderate bitterness with caramel, guava, pine and wet stone flavors. fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 28, 2009 Bottle pours dark amber color with off white head. Aroma has a sweet caramel malt smell with a twang of hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is more caramel malt and finishes with a touch of hop flavor on the backside. When I first tried this I thought it was a red ale. I was surprised to see its an IPA. Guess I should have drank this sooner since its more malty now. A good brew never-the-less. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Apr 1, 2009 (12oz. bottle, courtesy of mar) Pours a clear amber body with a medium off-white head. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Mar 7, 2009 bottle thanks to oldgrowth. light amber pour with a rocky cream head. nice nose of grapefruits and hops. great floral flavor as well as some grapefruits. solid ipa right here goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Jan 11, 2009 Poured crystal clear in a orange-copper color and off-white head. The aroma was a mix, but strong, of bready malt and citrus hop. Hops lean toward domination. The flavor is malt dominant but again strong in both malt and hop. Citrus being the main hop component. Almost a medium body with a semi-dry finish and a good bitterness. A solid IPA.
