Commercial Description:
Carolina Brewing Company is proud to roll out our Holiday Wiggo. If you’re not familiar with Wiggo, it’s a dark copper-colored IPA that weighs in at 6.0% alcohol by volume. We use lots of dark caramel malt to balance the heavy citrusy, piney aroma and flavor from Cascade and Centennial hops (including a heavy dose for dry hopping in the fermenter). Holiday Wiggo is our fourth version of this beer (Wiggo

Bottle obtained in a trade with OldGrowth. Thanks! Bottled 11/25/08. Poured a clear copper color. The head was thick and off white with good retention and lacing. I smelled caramel, orange, toffee, mango, and a bit of pine. Medium bodied and sweet. Mild to moderate bitterness with caramel, guava, pine and wet stone flavors.

Poured crystal clear in a orange-copper color and off-white head. The aroma was a mix, but strong, of bready malt and citrus hop. Hops lean toward domination. The flavor is malt dominant but again strong in both malt and hop. Citrus being the main hop component. Almost a medium body with a semi-dry finish and a good bitterness. A solid IPA.

Bottle pours dark amber color with off white head. Aroma has a sweet caramel malt smell with a twang of hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is more caramel malt and finishes with a touch of hop flavor on the backside. When I first tried this I thought it was a red ale. I was surprised to see its an IPA. Guess I should have drank this sooner since its more malty now. A good brew never-the-less.

Bottled 11/25/08. Clear vibrant copper pour. Fluffy off-white head and drippy lace. Citrus and grapefruit on the nose. Grainy, grapefruit flavor decent beer with some similarities to SN celebration.
