May 18, 2008 tap. best one I tried. midnight black. thin mocha head. sweet oats, chocolate, mild coffee and sourness in aroma. creamy mouth. well hopped. coffee grinds, mild chocolate, light nuttiness.

Jul 19, 2006 On tap @ Carvers poured a nearly opaque brownish black with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of roasted malt, a hint of chocolate and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee with a dry bitter finish.

Mar 27, 2005 1/2 Gallon Growler. Black with a small, filmy light tan head. Small malt driven aromatics (coffee, burnt malts, chocolate). Diverse range of malt flavor, while the smoothness and drinkability made the entire growler pretty easy to devour. Light chocolate, currant and coffee flavor with a touch of grapefruit on the back of the tonque. An enjoyable brew.

Aug 9, 2003 Black with a tan head. Buttery, yeasty aroma. Mild carbonation, cherry, butter, and vanilla flavors evident. Some malt body in the finish, but far too much of a butter presence.
