Maple syrup and whiskey. Not as thick as one would expect, but some sticky sweetness in the taste. Had a vague medicinal nose that was off putting. While malty it did have a touch of light hops in the end.

From the description, I didn't expect something so golden. The nose was smokey and sweet...an old pipe tobacco store smell. Maple syrup was the dominant force, as if they held this glass right up to the tapper on the tree. Alcohol seemed stronger than 6%, maybe due to the whisky barrel aging. Whew, I'd put this on my pancakes anyday!!!
