Bottle. Bright gold with a fine white, generously lacing collar. Aroma beans, almond, rubber and honey. Flavour dryish and a bit pilsy with faint lemon, bread and vanilla, crisp hop bitterness, no brazen adjuncts, maybe a few crumbs of cornflake. A surprisingly pleasant initiation into Moroccan beer...

Bottle, L’Initiale, Oualidia..I wasn’t expecting to find great beer when visiting Morocco, but I suppose this is probably the best effort I came across. As lagers go its a decent enough quencher with enough malt and hop presence to raise it above a lot of the largery dirge that swills around this planet. My advice when in Morocco would be to stick with the rose wine which was a really pleasant surprise and just enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds of this fascinating country.

Had one in Morroco town at Epcot while watching the belly dancer with my kids. The show was ending and I didn’t have time to make it to one of the better lands. Tasted like pondwater full of dirt & sticks. Maybe some grass too. I think its why dogs eat grass to make themselves vomit.

Bottle. Low and quickly disappearing white fluffy head. Slightly hazy light yellow body. Weak barley malt aroma with a hint of marzipan. Relatively high carbonated barley malt flavor with a bit of hops bitterness. Short aftertaste.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.
Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, fruity, marzipan, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic. [20090708]

330 ml bottle. From Germany. Clear golden colour with small white head. Grainy malty and floral hoppy aroma. Flavour is also grainy malty and grassy hoppy. Quite fizzy. Nice surprise, not bad.

From 99 Bottles. Poured a light straw colour beneath a smallish white head. Aroma was amazingly beer-like, with some hop notes. Taste was not the worst lager I’ve ever had although sweeter than I’d like at the finish. Mouth was average, just like the rest of it. I’ve had worse from better brewers.

Odd, it seems that after one sip i’ve obtained a headache...I never read about that on the bottle label... Poured out a slightly cloudy light yellow gold beer with an excellent thick, creamy white cap with great retention and 360 degree lacing from the top of the glass right to the bottom. The aroma is dull and very slightly metallic but does have some grain, bread and weak citrus qualities. The taste isn’t that bad after it warms a bit but the underlying sharp bitterness become too obvious later on - almost hot. Taste revolves around corn and grain but the herbal hops exist a bit to large for my palate tonight. Just above light bodied, fairly smooth but my mouth isn’t all that happy. Ends with a lengthy bitter after taste that cannot be muted by the malts.
