Brightly tart nose, full of lacto. Dried apricot and vanilla (mostly oak, I guess. Some tannins. Medium body, with reasonable substance. The flavors match the nose here. Vanilla is absent perhaps, but the oak comes way forward, particularly in the tannic finish. Lactic acid sourness and fruity apricot balanced by surprising malt. Alcohol is undetectable. Lingering tannin finish. Lovely boFNjackson (1302), Portland, Oregon, USA

Aroma of light fruit and tart wine-like characters. Dry palate. Very sweet, and the apricot was just perfect. Very subtle and played off the sour note perfectly. Pours a clearish pale gold with a thin white dimishing head. Aroma is a bit harsh and plasticy with a sharp apricot juice almsot fake aroma and a honey sweet kick. Flavor is a sharp acetic and maltic acid kick to the palate with more honeyed sweetness going on phenolic some earth and a bit DMS going on- prickly acidity in the end. I wasnt that crazy overall about this one. TheEpeeist (1459), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 5, 2009 25.4 oz bottle. Clear topaz with frothy white edging. Even cold, nose starts with a sour punch. Green apple, tart pear hit first fading to toffee and dried apricots. Medium body with a slight tingle but still light and airy in the mouth. Taste is sour apricot, lemon peel and gouda. Just a touch of fruity sweetness. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Aroma is quite light and apricoty with a fairly earthy/minerally character behind the soft fruitiness. Aroma is quite sweet and straightforward. Flavour shows a light minerally tartness up front. A soft sweet apricot flavour through the middle. On the back there is a touch of mintiness along with the lingering fruit. It’s quite soft as of yet, but I quite like it. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a nice honey color with a short lived beige bubbly head. Smell is definitely fruity, with some apricot coming through. Taste is very dry, fruity and much like dry apricots. Very lightly tart but more dry than sour. Good full body for the style and bubbly and nice carbonation. The flavor on this was very fruity and extremely enjoyable. Very good stuff! beastiefan2k (1603), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 I had a few samples at GABF and loved it there but this rating is from a recent bottle and I was much less impressed, so I am not sure what is going on. Pours a clear amber color. Aroma is strong apricot skins, which are very natural smelling. That is about it, natural, fruity, and earthy. Not much sourness coming through. Taste is natural apricot flavor but not much of anything else, especially anything I would call sour. But it is natural, lightly sweet, with no flaws. But as a side note, at GABF this was sour and acidic even. puzzl (2621), New York, New York, USA

Vinegary flavor is not quite sour but has a lot of that acidic character. A touch of fruit maybe, perhaps some peach, but more likely the fruit flavor comes from the vinegary-ness. Kind of muddy and odd. Not quite working for me.
