Clear orange with some red highlights and a 1/2 finger yellow beige head, fair retention. Some sweet caramel and fig notes are up front with some lactic acidity, and some red wine barrels behind that--though I don’t think the barrels they used were wine. The flavor comes out a little less sweet than the aroma. Some tart cherry also makes an appearance. Dry finish with some old barrels coming forth. Acidity was a 3, bitterness was a 2. Full body with light prickly carbonation. I thought that the Apricot was much much better than this one--I echo MatSciGuy in that this beer couldn’t figure out what it wanted to be--maybe blending wasn’t a good idea in this case. Aroma is pretty light. Malt and yeast evident, and only a hint of lactic acid. Flavor is caramelly, malty, and slightly sour. Confusing beer, but not in a way that makes me want to drink any more. thornecb (1774), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
