Bottle shared by psprings at hellbilly’s holiday tasting. Nice bright red-orange pour with a foamy heady. Sour cherries, malt and yeast in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and sour at the same time, with lots of cherries and malt. A nice, not too sour, sour. Good. Thanks Paul!

Taster at the SLC tasting 2009
Appearance: Pours a brownish red with a nice white head
Aroma: Spicy, fruit and oak
Taste: Oak and tart fruit.
It wasn’t as tart as I thought it would be from the aroma. I think the barrel aging might have taken the edge off.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of cherry, basalmic vinegar, oak, carmel, apple and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry lightly tart finish. Flavors of cherry, basalmic vinegar, light oak, light carmel and a hint of spice with a crisp dry lingering tart finish. Very tasty complex beer!

25 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a touch of ruby. Small thinnish fizzy off-white head that ran quickly to a thin ring. The nose is mostly just sourness with some light oak, citrus rinds, and some caramel. Pretty acidic and dry up front, but not much flavor beyond the light vinegar. Finishes with a bit of cereal grains and sweet malt. Slightly acetic and drying mouthfeel up front, but the sweetness of the malt comes out toward the back end making it a little clingy. Nice prickly fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was decent, but it really doesn’t have anything to hang it’s hat on. Comes across as more of a Flemish Red rather than a Sour Ale.

thanks to jdubfl for sharing! Tart funky aromas with cereal grains and hints of caramel. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. Tart apples with caramel and followed by rich malts, oaky vanilla with a spiciness, and dry tart finish. Very nice!

Complex aroma of Champagne vinegar, buttery oak influence, Beaujolais left open on the table for a few days and light baking spices. Flavor is moderately tart, with a rounded oakiness showing up on the finish. Pretty nice.
