Nice bright red-orange pour with a foamy heady. Sour cherries, malt and yeast in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and sour at the same time, with lots of cherries and malt. A nice, not too sour, sour. Good. Thanks Paul!

Appearance: Pours a brownish red with a nice white head
Aroma: Spicy, fruit and oak
Taste: Oak and tart fruit.
It wasn’t as tart as I thought it would be from the aroma. I think the barrel aging might have taken the edge off. ditmier (1100), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2009 25 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a touch of ruby. Small thinnish fizzy off-white head that ran quickly to a thin ring. The nose is mostly just sourness with some light oak, citrus rinds, and some caramel. Pretty acidic and dry up front, but not much flavor beyond the light vinegar. Finishes with a bit of cereal grains and sweet malt. Slightly acetic and drying mouthfeel up front, but the sweetness of the malt comes out toward the back end making it a little clingy. Nice prickly fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was decent, but it really doesn’t have anything to hang it’s hat on. Comes across as more of a Flemish Red rather than a Sour Ale. redlight (1487), Winter Park, Florida, USA
