Oakes (6776), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 15, 2008 Blend of five different beers. About 2 months old when sampled in March. Fiery amber colour. Slight haze. Has a big malt nose with light dark fruit accent, as in a quadrupel. Some vinous qualities that make me want to have a porterhouse. Tartness encloses the palate, duelling with an intensely sweet peachiness. This has a lot of potential - there’s quite a lot going on here. Once this dries out people will be looking for it.
AmEricanbrew (799), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jul 3, 2008 Dark amber with a frothy head, nice lacing. Mild tart fruit and funky brett aroma with some wet wood. Nice, sweet tart flavors are cherry pit, wood, lemon with a hint of red wine. Like to try an aged bottle of this some time... not too bad. Draft @ Brouwers Cafe’ 6/30/2008 SuzyGreenberg (768), Seattle, Washington, USA May 23, 2008 draft @ brouwer’s sour fest - cloudy, dark yellow with minor carbonation; tart apples, fruit and slight sourness on the aromas; a little dirty feet kind of funk to it too; drinks fruity and sour, but not too harsh; slight zing and light bodied Angeloregon (1464), Portland, Oregon, USA May 13, 2008 On tap at "Meet the Brewer" event at Green Dragon in Portland, OR--Poured a muddy amber-copper (slightly brown) body with a a thick whitish cover. Nose of guttural tart and tropical fruitiness. Lots of hops and lots of infection. This brewery should stick to this style, because the infection is in all their stuff. This is a nice, tart, puckering, sweet, balance of several components that Cascade does well. after4ever (1628), Brier, Washington, USA May 13, 2008 Draft at Brouwers Cafe Sourfest. Crystal clear dark amber with rubied highlights. Big tart cherry vinegar nose--sweet and sour. Creamy medium body. Some carb, but not much. Rich tart fruity vinegar mid-palate. Mild tart finish. Delicious, but not quite complex enough to be amazing.
