bfgill (120), Tasmania, Australia Oct 26, 2003 This german style lager reminded me of grolsch. Small frothy head with white lacing. Little aroma, but what there is - promising. Pleasent taste, occasionally tasted that metallic ringwood hop finish, but other times it was tasty. Left me a little confused. Def one of the better seasons, overall I seemed to like it more than others, then again, maybe its just bias? cheers
ehilton (2), California, USA does not count Jan 29, 2008 This is wonderful beer, and a great brewery! They do everything themselves and they’ve been doing it that way for years! DuffMan (2139), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 2, 2005 Golden, clear, decent head. Green hop aroma, slightly floral. Mildly floral hop palate, but mostly lagery malt. Finish is crisp. Refreshing, but not my favourite out of the four seasons collection. ALLOVATE (1127), Perth, Australia Jan 22, 2005 After tasting Cascade’s Summer Blonde, I thought twice before pouring this into the glass. Body was a brilliant gold, with a short dense white head. Grassy aroma like stale hops, with little else. In the mouth the beer was quite floral ( one thing the brewer’s description got right!!! ), but carbonic acid seemed to plague any other flavour from dominating. Notes of leaves, green apples and minimal malt sweetness, led through to a short crisp aftertaste. Little better than any other stock standard Australian Lager. Linc (736), Sydney, Australia Nov 27, 2004 Yet another weak effort from Cascade brewery. It doesn’t surprise me that they used a teabag full of hops in each batch, but it disappoints me. I suppose if they used any more, you couldn’t appreciate the flavour of the water they use... Perhaps that’s a bit harsh but they really need to be a bit more adventurous. IJT (40), Carterton, England Nov 14, 2004 The aroma is that of very pungent hops, very pungent. This dominating character makes for a very nice and refreshing brew that goes very well with food, most notably spicy food like a curry.
The palate is medium bodied and leaves a tantalising after taste of hops.
For some reason the best way to describe this beer is that it is like drinking the colour of darkish pungent green. It also reminded me of lawn clippings and fresh grass.
