Hazy auburn with ruby highlights and a 1/2 finger creamy beige head, fair retention. Cherry skins and tart cherry pulp up front with a light to moderate amount of lactic acid, and a hint of acetone. Flavor adds a slight chocolate note, but is otherwise pretty much buried by the aforementioned lactic and cherry pulp sourness. The skins are still present as well. Semi-dry oaky finish, sourness peaking at a 6-7. Seems like it has a bunch of sourness for the sake of being sour, and it didn’t have anything else going on, so why not? Flavor was actually about a 6.5. Moderate carbonation with a light body. Meh, it sounds pretty nice, but it was kinda one-dimensional and overly tannic. m4rest88 (216), Beverly Hills, California, USA

Thats pretty sour, nice! Great tart cherries upfront, a little acidic, funky, oaky vanilla in the finish. Awesome beer! petematte46 (225), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Pours a hazy deep red body with a small white head. Aroma of cherries, oak, light chocolate, caramel, and a touch of smoke. The finish is way to sweet for my taste. I guess Krieks aren’t my thing. FlssmrBrewAlum (1152), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2009 750 ml bottle via trade with riversideak. Thanks! Pours a rusty opaque brown, some reddish tinge, but very hazy and brown. Fairly large tannish head that laces well, dies to a small layer and clings to the sides. Aromas throw a solid Flanders feel, with some darker malts lingering with a nice tartness, sour, touch of funk and oak, dryness, with a nice cherry fruit feel. Light tannins, very nice. Initial is medium in body, throwing a light mellow maltiness, followed up by light tartness, sour, and oaky on the front. Moves to a bit of a full body, sour cherries are light but discernible, wet oak, and a touch of lactic on the backend. Tart sour finish is decent in strength, really makes this beer sessionable, but underflavored. Decent for the style, a little under what I was expecting. illidurit (889), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Strawberry guava color, totally opaque with a pinkish ecru head that sticks around well. Aroma is part black cherries and part maraschino cherries. Slightly tart with some strawberry notes. Flavor is not really that robust or characterful. Sort of boring cherry taste with a little tartness. Kinda like eating a cherry that’s not very ripe yet. Semidry mouthfeel, cherry pit finish, easy to drink but I doubt I could drink an entire 750. dogfish120love (268), west hartford, Connecticut, USA
