Bottle. Thanks to Sebletitje for sharing. I just do not understand sour beer yet. Poured a hazy reddish color. Aroma is very unusual to me, very funky with a small tart cherry presence. Very mild cherry flavor, hard to detect thru all the sour tartness. Finishes sour and dry.

pours ruby red with light reddish head. Aroma is just very cherry like with hints of vinegar though not overly sour. Taste, cherry, some sourness and oak wood barrel. The sour aspect is just on the spot, not too much and makes this one a very drinkable sour. Overall palate is in the mid vinegary range with some light hints of tart cherry.

Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Reddish haze of a pour, frothy white head and sticky lacing. Nose is tart, with vinegar, acidic cherries. Flavor is nice tart fruit punch, with cherries and acidic notes, and some dry grain in the finish. Medium-bodied and very drinkable. Felt like I wouldn’t like this based on the aroma, but it’s pretty good.

Poured a brown red color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vinegar, cherries, red wine, toast, leather, vanilla, and oak. Taste of cherries, vinegar, green apple, light sweetness, and an acidic sour finish. Thanks to Steve for sharing.

750 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering pinkish amber head. Aromas of sour pie cherries, oak, leather and light funk. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of sour pie cherries, oak, barnyard funk and a hint of leather with a crisp dry lingering tart finish.

750ml bottle acquired in trade with bu11zeye (thanks!). Poured a medium and murky reddish/brownish color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of cherries, oaky/woodiness, and some vanilla. Tastes if cherries (sweet and sour), lighter woodiness, and lighter vinegar.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a murky reddish brown with a smaller bubbly off white head. Aroma of tart cherries, cherry pie and a faint hint of vinegar. Flavor of tart and sour cherries. Nice flavor but hard to get much more than the cherry pie tartness that was going on.

Sampled at Julio’s, 2008 bottle. Aroma has a big sour cherry flavor, balanced with subtle cocoa to “darken” the aroma. Flavor starts with acidic bite, then moves towards sweet strawberry and cherry notes. For some reason, I though of red sour patch kids, though with fresh fruit and real, honest acidity. Overall this beer is well balanced, intensely flavorful, and with a good rich mouthfeel.
