Dogbrick (2807), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 10, 2009 Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium thin beige head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Dry, medium body with flavors of roasted coffee and chocolate plus some malt and hops. The finish is dry and roasty with a pleasant coffee aftertaste. Decent all around. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Mar 9, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thin beige head. Malty aroma with chocolate and caramel. Chocolate malt flavor up front with a dry, roasty coffee finish. HopDuvel99 (39), Tennessee, USA Jan 26, 2009 Dark brown with a small, quick tan head. Roasty/malty/alcoholic aroma. Medium body, smooth, foamy mouthfeel. Dry, roasty, and hoppy. Some coffee and caramel/malt. Good, solid porter. scrizzz (1246), kirkland, Washington, USA Jan 5, 2009 More coffee than chocolate on the nose, dark dark brown. Chocolate malt predominately, great flavor where other porters stray. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Dec 24, 2008 Draft @ 7th St Brewhouse, Redmond, OR. Pours a darkish brown almost black color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a roasted malty finish with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste. StanMemTn (34), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Oct 21, 2008 A beautiful black porter. Almost desert like with its chocolate malty character. A hearty brew. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 20, 2008 Tastes thin, smells wan, everything about the damn thing is just weak. It lost its only appeal when they changed from the amazing old label too. NoiZe (1288), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Aug 16, 2008 Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Nice, but kinda average and thin brew.
