Aug 19, 2005 Bottle: This beer is basically black with a light brown fizzy head. It wafts the rich, full roasted malt aromas into the nasal passages creating a "thank you" sensation. The flavors are mainly mild charcoal, dark choco-mocha-nut yumminess. I enjoyed the feel on this one since it wasn’t as oily and thin as other porters. It has more substance which makes it like a comfy blanket for your tastebuds. Delicious!

Aug 10, 2005 Bottled. Pours brown and almost still. Nose is coffee and something burnt. The burnt flavor shows up in the flavor as well along with some caramel.

Black color, light brown edges & a thin layer of lacing. Nose of sweet candied mocha, licorice & roast. Flavor has a brief astringency but stays in the sweet roast realm 90% of the time. Finishes mochaish & roast with chocolate & coffee

Mar 8, 2005 Dark brown with lighter edges. Tannish head. Aromas of roast and chocolate. Some soy and lactose. A touch smoky. The flavor is much the same but seems a bit muted. The roast and bitter hops stand out the most. Creamy palate with a roasty dark malt finish.
