Commercial Description:
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate. This is the best way to describe Monkey Face Porter. It is a medium bodied porter with significant chocolate malt characteristics. But don’t let the dark color scare you. This beer finishes extremely dry with a hint of the Willamette hops used to create this perfectly balanced porter. Monkey Face Porter is perfect after a long day at the mountain or on the river!

Bottle: This beer is basically black with a light brown fizzy head. It wafts the rich, full roasted malt aromas into the nasal passages creating a "thank you" sensation. The flavors are mainly mild charcoal, dark choco-mocha-nut yumminess. I enjoyed the feel on this one since it wasn’t as oily and thin as other porters. It has more substance which makes it like a comfy blanket for your tastebuds. Delicious!

Bottled. Pours brown and almost still. Nose is coffee and something burnt. The burnt flavor shows up in the flavor as well along with some caramel.

Black color, light brown edges & a thin layer of lacing. Nose of sweet candied mocha, licorice & roast. Flavor has a brief astringency but stays in the sweet roast realm 90% of the time. Finishes mochaish & roast with chocolate & coffee

Dark brown with lighter edges. Tannish head. Aromas of roast and chocolate. Some soy and lactose. A touch smoky. The flavor is much the same but seems a bit muted. The roast and bitter hops stand out the most. Creamy palate with a roasty dark malt finish.

black with a tan ring of head, sweet and creamy, roasty flavor somewhat of a medicine like flavor, syrupy malts, dry finish, not a bad porter and not a bad random combination of words for the name either, drugs.

Pitch black. Creamy toasted bread and smoked bran. Good thick palate, mild flavors overall... mild and light toasted malts, creamy coffee. Good, but not complex.
