Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Mar 15, 2006 Kind of a flat-looking dark brown. Creamy, coffeeish aroma is fairly by-the-numbers. Not a ton going on palate-wise either. A simple coffee-accented standard porter. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Jul 26, 2005 (12oz bottle) Clear cola body with a small tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, milk chocolate, cocoa. Taste is medium sweet, milk chocolate, some roast, light cola. Medim body, light acidity. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Apr 10, 2009 Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom. It is black with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee, dry citrus and a light, roasted bitterness in the finish. It is uncomplicated and light, and very easy to drink. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jan 8, 2006 (Bottle) Pours a black body with a moderate creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Good thick palate, mild flavors overall... mild and light toasted malts, creamy coffee. Good, but not complex. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Mar 9, 2005 Sampled draught at Cascade Lakes Lodge, Bend Black color, light brown edges & a thin layer of lacing. Nose of sweet candied mocha, licorice & roast. Flavor has a brief astringency but stays in the sweet roast realm 90% of the time. Finishes mochaish & roast with chocolate & coffee
anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Dec 24, 2008 Draft @ 7th St Brewhouse, Redmond, OR. Pours a darkish brown almost black color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a roasted malty finish with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Dec 19, 2005 Bottle from Steve and served in my GL snifter: Pours a deep brown and a small fading tan head and some lace. The aroma has notes of carmel, chocolate, and black malts; grassy and floral hops; and noticeable coffee. The flavor starts with a hit of sweet chocolate and roasted malt before a dose of bitterness that seem to be from both hops and coffee. Pretty well balance but not enough texture and is a tad overcarbonated. Overall, a workable porter and easy to drink, never boring.
